Race: Cool City Customs 200
Location: Michigan International Speedway
Date: June 14th, 2008

NOTES:
  • This week’s race truck for the event at the Michigan International Speedway is Chassis No. 5-70.  This is the same truck Skinner ran earlier in the year at Atlanta en route to his highest finish this season, third.
  • Truck Series Leaders… Skinner leads the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers in top-10 finishes in 2008, with seven.
  • Moving On Up…  After encountering bad luck during the first few races of the 2008 season the No. 5 Toyota Tundra is back on the right path.  Skinner sits in the seventh position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings.  He is a mere 29 points out of the top-five and just 100 points out of the lead in the Craftsman Truck Series Championship standings.
  • Michigan Stats… The two-mile Michigan track has treated Skinner quite well in the past.  With one pole, three top-five finishes and three top-10 finishes in his five career NCTS Michigan starts, Skinner hopes to run well again this weekend.
  • Listen and watch… The Cool City Customs 200 is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. EST Saturday, June 14.  It will broadcast on SPEED (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).

Mike Skinner on Racing at the Michigan International Speedway:

“We may be consistent with our top-10 finishes right now, but I am not happy with our truck.  Jeff (Hensley) and the guys have been working hard; it’s just that nothing seems to be going our way on the track.  We have a lot of work to do and a lot of points to gain in the process.  Michigan is a great track to race on and we have run pretty well there in the past, so hopefully we can get a strong finish at MIS this weekend.”
