Lots Of Miles — By Land And Air

A late two-tire stop — along with some stellar strategy and driving — sent Scott Speed to victory lane in Friday’s Craftsman Truck race at Dover.  Piloting Bill Davis Racing’s No. 22 Red Bull Toyota, Scott ran away from the field after a late restart to win in his first visit to the rugged one-mile oval.

“To bring home the first win for the guys at BDR was super cool,” Scott said. “I’m just lucky to be the guy.”

The celebration was short, however. Scott bolted for the Red Bull Air Race World Series in Detroit, and now he has a double-duty weekend on his hands, one that spans some 1,500 miles.

He will practice and qualify Eddie Sharp Racing’s No. 2 Red Bull Toyota on Friday at Pocono, then fly to Texas Motor Speedway for the truck race.  Michael Annett will shake down and qualify Scott’s truck for the Sam’s Town 400.  Scott will then jet set back to Pocono for Saturday’s ARCA Pocono 200.

“Looking at the track layout,” Scott said of 2.5-mile Pocono, “all three corners are quite different.  Pocono seems to be a track that fits my driving style.”
