Blaney’s Thoughts on Lowe’s…

“This is a pretty important race for this Caterpillar Racing team.  We worked hard to get ourselves into the top 35 [in owners’ points], so now we need to make sure we stay there.  We didn’t run as well as we thought we would in the Sprint Showdown, but it was a good opportunity to learn some things that will no doubt help us in the 600.  We’re only around 50 points out of 30th, but at the same time there’s a pretty tight battle going for those spots just behind us.  Even just a couple of positions can mean an awful lot come race day, so we’ll have to make sure we’re ready for 600 miles.  The good news is we know our Bill Davis Racing team is in the race, and we had what we think was a pretty good test here a couple of weeks ago.  Now it’s up to us to make sure we capitalize on the opportunity.”
