Blaney’s Thoughts on Darlington…

“Darlington is always a challenging place to race, and it will be especially interesting with the new pavement.  From what I’ve heard from the guys that have been able to test, it sounds like they did a nice job with the project, and we’re looking forward to getting there.  It will be as challenging as it always is, but probably faster and with more grip.  We’re happy to have an extra couple of hours of practice on Thursday too.  Being outside the top 35 in points, we often spend a good bit of the first practice making qualifying runs, so to have that extra practice will give us the opportunity to make some longer runs and see how it affects the handling of the car.  It’s tough, you know, being out of the top 35.  It really changes the way you approach the weekend.  Last weekend our Cat Camry was pretty quick off the truck, and we were able to spend some time in race trim.  I think it made a difference during the race.  Hopefully we can start off strong again in Darlington.”
