Michael Annett grew up in the Mid-West with dreams of becoming a famous athlete.  His dreams have finally come true, but it is not the vision he once had as a young boy.  Growing up, the 21 year old dreamed of being a professional hockey player.  It was not until the age of 16 that Annett got his first chance behind the wheel of a racecar.

Growing up in Iowa, Annett had a knack for stick and ball sports.  At the age of six, he started going to the local hockey rink playing pick up games with other children.  As timed passed Annett caught the eye of regional and national hockey talent scouts and his hockey career really started to take off.  At the age of 16, the Iowa native joined Team Illinois, a tier one AAA team, and led them to the 2002 Calgary Mac’s AAA Hockey Tournament Championship.

After a successful season with Team Illinois leading the league in penalty minutes, Annett joined the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League.  He picked up the 2004 Most Improved Player Award in the U.S. Hockey League honors in his rookie season.  Annett stayed with the team for two seasons winning two consecutive Clark Cup Championships.  At the end of the 2005 season Annett decided to hang up his hockey skates for a steering wheel.

Annett wanted a new challenge and had always been interested in auto racing.  He jumped in his first late model race in 2006 and instantly fell in love.  He knew right then and there he had a passion for racing and wanted to make it his career.  He was a really quick learner and was willing to take risks both on and off the race track.

He made his first few starts in a stock car behind the wheel of an ASA Late Model North Series machine.  He made a quick study of the short tracks in the Northeast finishing in the top-10 several times with a best finish of second at the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Wisconsin.

In 2007, Annett tried his luck in the ARCA RE-MAX Series.  In four ARCA starts the Iowa native brought home two top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes.  Annett captured the pole at his first ARCA race in June at Iowa Speedway and also brought both Bill Davis Racing and Toyota their first victory with the Toyota Camry in ARCA RE-MAX competition in October at the Talladega Superspeedway.

In 2008, the now 21-year old again joins forces with Bill Davis Racing in the driver development program.  He will compete in a number of ARCA RE-MAX Series events as well as participate in a rigorous testing program under the close eye of competition director, Tommy Baldwin.

The future looks very bright for Michael Annett.  His dream of becoming a famous athlete has come to fruition and is now truly living his dream!
